Ever since I can remember, I have been carrying rocks in my pocket (and later, in my bra!), feeling their energy and support. I never really cared about what kind of stone it was. I just knew which ones to carry and keep in my little, hidden collection. Fast forward to 2020, when the Lockdown forced me to slow down and sit. That’s when I discovered Jamie and Maitland (M-a-i-t-l-a-n-d). OH MY HEAD! It’s not Woo woo, it’s true true!! I’m not a nut job!! I was HOOKED!

Several months later, my beautiful niece, EmmaJack, sent me a green crystal bracelet…the stretchy kind on the elastic cord. The thing with those kinds of bracelets for me is that my automatic brain thinks it’s a hair band (and as my hair was growing crazy because of said Lockdown), I ended up breaking it as I tried to tie my mop down! Desperate to still wear the beads, I ordered some pearl beading thread and some other crystal beads that called out to me. It was also the same time as a monthly energy update, so I ordered Maitland’s recommended crystals and waited patiently for the package to arrive. At this time, I was living on a boat in the Caribbean, and it took about two and a half weeks for the package to arrive. Not a good plan for monthly crystal support. Anyway, I re-strung my green beads with citrine and added little glass beads for some sparkle. The design wasn’t “right,”…yet my inspiration skyrocketed! I did make the monthly necklace and wore it for a few days.  

As the next update happened, I decided to go ahead and let inspiration help me order a bunch of beads, filling a waterproof box. I figured I would have what I needed if I ordered them all. NOT! (How can you order them all?!) I usually had two of the three crystals and would then figure out what other bead could substitute for the missing one. It was so much fun to make and wear the energy for the month. The design fell into place (totally inspired by Spirit) and I started making them for friends. I can’t tell you the amount of joy I feel when I see others wearing Maitland’s magic.

As a Reiki Master (Dr. Usui, 7th Generation from the best instructor, Jamie Butler!), I am Hands-On while making each creation. It then goes in a selenite bowl for even more mojo. When an order is placed, I add personalize Reiki to your pieces so your gems are bursting with love and light.
